| Career Consulting with Christina, also known as C3, is a virtual consulting agency designed to assist people from all over the United States with resumes transformations, executive resumes transformations, cover letters, personal statements, interview preparation, mock interviews, LinkedIn creations, and career guidance, while also hosting workshops and attending speaking engagement to help maximize your career potential. Since its inception in July 2018, we have serviced over 200 people throughout the United States. |
What sparked the start of your business?
How has the journey been?
When I was in college and landed a Human Resources internship at a corporate company, but did not see enough women or people of color that looked like me in a professional setting, I wanted to find a way to change that. I also got inspired to start C3 after numerous friends contacted me to assist with resume and consulting services in order to help them land good jobs like the one I had. At that point, it became very apparent to me that the reason why I did not see many women or people of color in professional careers is because many did not have the right tools and resources to succeed. I also came from an underrepresented city with more crime than actual college or job acceptances, and I wanted to find a way to make a difference in my community. I was determined to help people beat the statistics or stereotypes that society has placed on them and truly take their careers to the next level instead with support from C3. After I saw all of the positive results from my career consulting services, that was the confirmation I needed to know that what I was doing was truly making an impact not only within my community, but now throughout the United States.
What’s something you think people should know about your industry?
Career consultants in the industry typically charge between $150-$300 to do a client’s resume. C3 charges dramatically less with the same level of professional services provided. We understand that there are many people from underrepresented communities that do not have the tools and resources to land great jobs with good pay. How will this population ever be serviced if consulting fees are too expensive? That is why C3 is committed to targeting this population by providing assistance in the best way possible at affordable prices, in efforts to help clients go from having unwanted jobs to professional careers.
What advice do you have for fellow entrepreneurs?
A piece of advice I would give to fellow entrepreneurs is that you should get comfortable with being uncomfortable. Never get complacent and settle for less than what you deserve. It takes a lot of hard work, sleepless nights, and perseverance in order to get your business off the ground and to get others to believe in your vision. You must be confident in your craft, do as much research on your field as you can to strengthen your credibility, and don’t be afraid to fail because that will only make you an even stronger entrepreneur in the long run.
